StratComm Named 2016 Massachusetts Veteran-Owned Small Business of the Year

We are pleased to announce that StratComm has been named the 2016 Massachusetts Veteran-Owned Small Business of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration.

President and CEO Bob George founded our company in 1978 as Boston Publishing Company following his tour in Vietnam as a Marine Corps pilot. With an early focus on history and military nonfiction book publishing, StratComm has navigated the changing economic landscape since its inception and has evolved into an innovative, thriving Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business.

We strongly support the veteran community and are proud to be a torchbearer for it. Two of our recently published books, The American Experience in Vietnam: Reflections on an Era and The Medal of Honor: A History of Service Above and Beyond, pay homage to our nation’s veterans and their heroic sacrifices throughout American history.

In addition, we partner with well-known veterans organizations such as Able Forces, a Veteran-Owned AbilityOne, nonprofit organization, to hire veterans and their spouses. We also work with the Department of Veterans Affairs on various programs and with VA medical centers nationwide.

StratComm works on technical publications (IETMs) supporting U.S. Navy LCS-class ship programs, with expertise in S1000D and other military specifications.

StratComm is now providing web-based skills testing directly to U.S. embassies and consulates around the world.

StratComm is contracting with the Environmental Protection Agency Gulf of Mexico Program Office to create documents supporting the agency's annual report.

With years of experience handling complex logistics projects and with meticulous attention to detail, the StratComm team printed and delivered 2.5 million school books to Tanzania in 100 days.

The Department of State contracted with StratComm to copyedit and design the annual report to Congress for the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).

StratComm is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), holding two GSA Schedule Contracts: Schedule 76 and Schedule 00CORP/541.

StratComm was named national veteran-owned business of the year and was featured on WGBH-TV's “Greater Boston” program in a segment hailing local small businesses.

Though our roots are in the publishing industry, we have greatly expanded our offerings, evolving considerably in the nearly four decades that we have been in business.
