Change for the Better at StratComm

Having been a staff member at a growing small business like StratComm for almost six years, inevitably I’ve witnessed change. Some people are uncomfortable with change, because it takes them out of their comfort zone. But in the context of a business like ours, in order to move forward, compete, and prepare for the future, change is necessary. It is vital. It’s the lifeblood of a small business like ours.

The change that we’ve experienced during my time at StratComm has been overwhelmingly positive. We’ve experienced a threefold increase in staff, with very little turnover. That means we’ve hired smartly, and everyone subscribes to our core business philosophy of close, personal customer service and the highest quality performance.

I’ve seen us expand our service offerings, to the point where we now offer many services in four key business areas: project management, international development, marketing & communications, and web development. We have completely reimagined our website to reflect this incredible breadth of services. (Pictured above is the home page on our current website—a more modern and user-friendly site than our previous one, pictured here.) [continued below]

We have demonstrated our ability to engineer solutions and implement humanitarian logistics projects that quite literally have a worldwide reach, in countries like Tanzania, Indonesia, and Haiti

We were awarded a second contract from the Social Security Administration to support its VHR program across a large number of offices in Region 2, including New York and New Jersey, on the heels of our success managing the entire Region 1 in New England.

We have published acclaimed, beautifully illustrated history books on subjects including the rise of the U.S. Navy from the War of 1812, poignant reflections on the war in Vietnam, and heartwarming stories about the heroics of Medal of Honor recipients throughout American history.

And our company was extremely honored to be selected as the 2016 Massachusetts veteran-owned small business of the year by the Small Business Administration, and our president and CEO, Bob George, selected as small business person of the year.

Change can mean many things. We’re fortunate at StratComm that for us, change has been good, and is propelling us ever-forward into territory that is constantly challenging and demanding of the best of what we offer.
