The Power of Good Editing
07 19 2016

StratComm is proud to have a diverse array of content development projects that we are entrusted with by our valued clients. Most of these projects have at least some editing component to them; sometimes, that is the main focus. Whatever the case, we feel it is critical that the content that we handle go through an extensive edit and proofread before it is published to the world.
Most of these projects specifically require that we perform editing services. It is, and has been since StratComm’s inception, one of our key services. We have specific staff dedicated to reviewing each line of text in each document we work on. Then it is reviewed again. We give our documents this level of detail because we strongly believe that the material you publish is a direct reflection of your organization. It is how you communicate with your stakeholders, audience, or clients. What does it say about your organization if you’re manuscript have grammatical errors. How will your audience percieve you if your web copy has spelling errers?
We hope the previous two sentences illustrate our point. There are some futurists out there who feel that someday, all you’ll need is to run a quick software program and your copy will come out squeaky clean, at a fraction of the cost and time of an actual editor. And, of course, there is spell check on many text applications today. But for now and the foreseeable future, only a human editor can understand your message, place it in context, ask questions, and suggest improvements.
Whether we’re editing or performing any other service we offer, our goal is to see our clients succeed. Sure you can throw your copy into a spell check or just have your marketing people look it over. But our clients deserve better. Do yours?
