StratComm Awarded Contract by SSA to Provide Vocational Experts

StratComm is pleased to announce that we have been awarded a contract from the Social Security Administration (SSA) to provide vocational experts (VEs) at SSA disability appeal hearings nationwide. StratComm will begin this service for SSA on April 1, 2020.

VEs are professionals who serve as expert witnesses at hearings, providing information to the judge about job availability in the labor market and skills needed for jobs that claimants may be qualified to perform. VEs may be present in person at hearings or may attend by phone or video conference. They provide impartial evidence that the judge considers when making a decision about awarding disability benefits to claimants.

For the past six years, StratComm has managed the Verbatim Hearing Recorder (VHR) program for SSA at many SSA Offices of Hearing Operations (OHOs) nationwide, recruiting and managing the VHRs who provide services at more than 40,000 disability appeal hearings per month. Our management of this program has been extremely successful, and we look forward to continuing to provide this same high level of service to the VE program.
