NIH MedlinePlus Magazine
StratComm works with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) on producing and publishing NIH MedlinePlus, a quarterly magazine that informs the American public about the vital work of the NIH and provides news on the latest breakthroughs resulting from NIH-supported research.
The magazine, published both in print and online, is distributed to physicians, hospitals, and medical libraries, and to roughly 60,000 individual subscribers nationwide. We also publish Salud magazine for NIH, an annual publication that offers the same reliable health information with content that engages Hispanic readers in the U.S.
The initiative involves the redesign and relaunch of both the magazine and website. Features of the redesigned magazine include a new logo, refreshed layout, new sections and departments, shorter pieces of content, and research updates from NIH’s 27 institutes.
The redesigned website will incorporate dynamic interactive elements, such as videos and infographics, allowing more frequent and timely coverage of NIH’s work, with improved website analytics that will facilitate reporting on reader interests and grow the audience. Responsive design will allow mobile users to browse casually and link to trending health care topics.
