RTI International Online Training Modules
As part of our ongoing partnership with RTI International, StratComm developed web-based training modules for the U.S. Department of Education’s Middle Grade Longitudinal Study of 2017–18 (MGLS) program. These interactive modules are utilized to aid RTI field staff training and to supplement in-person training for the data collection and administration of the program.
StratComm’s instructional design team follows a five-step process for developing training modules: onboarding, analysis, design, development, and implementation. Experience has taught us that this process, working collaboratively with our clients, effectively captures the goals of the training and efficiently drives projects forward.
We develop training modules that include a variety of multimedia, including images, music, narration, and animation. They incorporate interactive knowledge checks such as multiple choice or fill-in-the-blank questions, to continuously engage learners and strengthen comprehension.
As part of the MGLS initiative, StratComm also designed and developed the MGLS study website and print brochures, targeting hundreds of institutions and thousands of students to become involved in the study.
The MGLS program is the first study to follow a national sample of students as they enter and move through the middle grades. With a focus on math and literacy skills, the study tracks student growth and instruction in these areas that are critical to their future. Data collected provide a comprehensive picture to researchers of the experiences of all students during these developmental years.
