Department of Veterans Affairs VA IT Campus
StratComm was awarded a $4.7 million contract to create a virtual learning environment for the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Information and Technology. Called the VA IT Campus, this environment’s technology enables VA to conduct virtual training sessions, conferences, and meetings that 8,000 VA information technology staff can access from wherever they have an Internet connection. This program is considered to be the most robust, cutting-edge, and dynamic application available on the market today.
This virtual environment features both live and recorded streaming of VA instructors presenting training on a myriad of subjects targeted and custom developed for their IT staff. This virtual learning environment includes interactive elements that enhance the learning experience, such as chat, social media, and access to training archives. It also lets learners pose questions directly to the presenter and have their questions answered shortly thereafter, in real time. Social media allows learners to connect directly with other learners around the world. Even the instructors can present from any remote location. This capability has enabled VA to save tremendously on time and money, as their learners are no longer required to travel to a conference or remote learning location.
