Department of State Online Skill Testing

Hiring new employees can be challenging. The U.S. Department of State knows this as well as anyone. It has more than 200 embassies and consulates worldwide, charged with hiring hundreds of employees every year. With no standard pre-employment testing system, many prospective employees were using paper and pencil tests and having the results hand-scored, creating a big problems for the government.

StratComm had the tools and the expertise to help. Our team implemented a program that offered a full catalog of online pre-employment tests that pinpoint skills of the Department’s job applicants and identify skill gaps in its existing workforce. For virtually any type of skill or role the posts needed to test for, with our program they had instant access to a catalog of more than 650 tests.

HR staff at Department of State posts around the world appreciated how user-friendly the software was. They could administer any test to an applicant and have scoring results and reporting as soon as the applicant was finished. With StratComm providing the tests, training, and 24-hour technical support, we helped rid the Department of State of the wasted time, stress, and expense, and made their hiring process a lot more manageable.
